DNA Entertainment recently DJed a wedding at Holman Ranch on May 17th 2010 for Dana and Erik and it was truly a beautiful and unique wedding.

We were working with one of the best wedding coordinators, Amy Byrd Weddings, in the area and they ensured everything went perfect.

When the dancing started it didn’t stop! Everyone had a wonderful time and we were honored to be a part of their celebration!

Martha Stewart Weddings picked up on this amazing wedding and decided to post it on their website.

Please click here to check it out. They even mention DNA and sent a link to our site!

wedding music
There are many excellent choices for your wedding music. Your wedding music not only depends on your musical taste, but your budget as well. No DJ can compete with the energy of a great live band, but bands are usually much more expensive than DJs. It is not unusual to receive price quotes from live bands that are several times more expensive than that of DJs.

Both bands and DJs are normally charging you by the hours of service performed. Four hours of music is standard in the industry. Music normally begins during the cocktail hour. For how long the band plays should be discussed during the initial negotiations. Both parties should understand what is needed and what is possible.

There are many ways to find wedding music. You can ask for recommendations from friends and family. If you are working with a wedding coordinator, she should be more than happy to assist you with wedding music. It is best to meet with several wedding music professionals before you make a decision. Never hire the first one you meet, even if you fall in love with them. You are doing yourself a disservice, if you don’t interview several bands. Ask to see the bands and DJs in action. Ask for demos to help you to make your decision. Ask for references to see what others think of the band.

Make sure you understand what the band members will be wearing. Remember they are your employees, for the few hours you hire them. They have to dress appropriately, and you not the band members determine what is appropriate. You should ask to see if they could play the songs that you want to hear. Will they take requests from guests? If possible, make sure the bandleader visits the venue before the event to make sure it has all the space and electrical requirements.

If you think you found the band or DJ you want to hire, put all the details in writing. Don’t just take someone’s word for it. Unless it is in writing, it was never part of the deal. If it is important to you put it in writing. It is better to be too careful than to get burned.

The DJs of DNA Entertainment had an extraordinary wedding season this year.  We feel so blessed to have DJed over 200 weddings this season at some of the most renowned resorts and hotels in the world.  In addition to amazing wedding venues, we had the opportunity to work with the best event coordinators, photographers, florists, caterers in the area.

The DJ’s of DNA Entertainment have come to agreement that the most rewarding thing about being a DJ is not just where and who we get to work with, but the faces of the bride and groom and their satisfied guests throughout the night. Knowing we have the opportunity to help plan and successfully execute their most important day touches each of us in a way that cannot be explained.

Monterey Peninsula’s wedding professionals came together at the end of the season at Couture Celebration’s Roast and Toast event.   The opportunity to have a glass of wine and share success stories with all the people who helped to make weddings as memorable as they are is truly a rewarding and honorable experience-and we cannot wait for next year!!

Last weekend, DNA Entertainment administered and DJed another successful wedding La Playa Hotel in Carmel; however, this wedding had a special touch to it. In addition to our dance floor lighting which is always included, our clients wanted something that would amaze their guests.

We suggested adding our up-lighting and spot-lighting package. Let me tell you, this is exactly what this couple wanted! When their guests entered the ballroom, it was as if they were entering a whole new atmosphere. With the up-lighting softening the walls and the spot-lighting illuminating their beautiful centerpieces, the ballroom had an amazing glow to it.

Please contact us and see how our lighting specialists can transform your ballroom into a world of your own.

DNA Entertainment just hosted the 1st annual Pacific Groove Night in downtown Pacific Grove. This was a scavenger hunt where you had to match up 53 clues with 53 store. Once you matched up the clues, you would have to get a signature from the store. After you had all 52 signatures, you get a raffle ticket which was drawn at the end of the night for some amazing prizes donated by all the stores.

While this was going on, DNA Entertainment was proudly the DJ and MC, playing some of the greatest groovy hits from the 60’s, 70’s. & 80’s.

It was so great to see everyone having such a great time dancing the night away and wining some great prizes at the same time!

We are very happy to be a part of any community event so please give us a call!

DNA Entertainment just hosted a corporate party at the Monterey Hyatt Regency. The guests of this party did not know that it was going to be an American Idol theme. When the doors opened to the ballroom, the guests walked in and to their surprise they saw the American Idol logo projected on our screens as well heard the theme song.

Each table had a list of 20 pre-selected karaoke songs to choose from and during dinner they were able to choose a song they wanted to sing. Let me tell you, after a few drinks, I think each team actually thought they were on American Idol.

This was a great activity because many of the guests at the tables were from different areas did not know each other and by the end of the night, they were laughing like old friends.

After the completion was over, DJ Darion ensured everyone was on the dance floor having a great time!

Want this for your next party? Please give us a call!
