I was djing a sweet 16th birthday party when the power when out in the entire north part of town. Luckily, I had a generator in my truck and within 10 minutes, I had the party back up. It was the only house with lights and any noise for miles. Still to this day, I DJ every event that family has and we have become good friends.

Weddings of course! Knowing that I had the opportunity to not only be a part of such a special occasion, but have a hand (or two) in shaping the entire celebrations makes me absolutely love my job.

Kickboxing, going to the beach with my dog, skiing, and traveling. Anything that involves going out and meeting new people and seeing new things.

I’m not writing this as a client, but my position as a videographer has given me a unique perspective on DJ’s and other wedding professionals. I’ve worked with quite a range of DJ’s in the past 21 years, some had great people skills, but couldn’t beat-match if their lives depended on it. Some were great with the mix, but had the personality of a warm turnip. With Anthony, I saw the best of both worlds. The footage I capture and the energy of the video has a direct relation to the energy of the crowd. When the dance floor is hopping, the toasts are smooth, and the transitions natural, it makes my life a whole lot easier. DJ Anthony had a great sound setup, which should be a no-brainer (but you would be surprised at what I’ve seen from so-called professional DJ’s). His system was perfect for the large ballroom. The sound was crisp, clean, and not too boomy or overdriven. I didn’t hear a single complaint to ‘turn it up’ or ‘turn it down’. How rare is that in a room with 250 people? Introductions were handled with enthusiasm and good pacing (have you ever sat through a 10 minute grand-entrance? It’s a mood killer). All the major events were handled well and transitioned smoothly. When the dance floor opened, Anthony’s experience truly shined. He worked the 1′s and 2′s like a club DJ…keeping the dance floor packed with a great mix of tunes artfully blended. The energy was great from the first song to the last. I can only count on a handful of DJ’s that I truly admire. Anthony is high on that list.
